Meet Samantha J Korzekwa! Korzekwa works as a CEA- ANR, Uvalde County. Here about her trip to Washington, DC. What was your favorite part of Fly-In? The exposure to all the issues we are facing; meeting other women who are just as passionate about farming and ranching as I am. What surprised you the most? How little I actually knew about the relationship between government officials and the farmers and ranchers. What is one thing you will advocate for now that you've learned the issues? I will definitely advocate the difference between the illegal immigrants and our migrant workers as well as making changes to the H2A process. I am also a firm believer of labeling things correctly and revising the regulations on trade. Any recommendations to a young women interested in agriculture or attending Fly-In next year. I would advise any and all young women who are interested in agriculture or Fly-In to attend. The experience is one of a kind and really makes you appreciate why you do what you do. The women they will meet are influential and full of knowledge; definitely not something to miss out on. ________________________________ Meet Kendra Thurman! What was your favorite part of Fly-In? A better question is, what did you not like about it! Everything was amazing. My favorite part was getting to meet with all the representatives and hearing the different responses they had. What surprised you the most? I was very surprise at how responsive and helpful everyone was. |
