Welcome to Texas AgriWomen, Inc.

Together we work:

- to showcase agriculture and products to consumers and the public
;

- to educate state officials on issues that concern agriculture;

- to address state and national issues of mutual concern to the agricultural community.

Membership is open to individuals who support, promote, or have an interest in the future of agriculture in the State of Texas and accept the by-laws of TAW.

Farmers, ranchers, associated industries, agribusiness,consumers, students, and educators are welcome.

TAW supports American Agri-Women, a national coalition representing 56 state and commodity organizations.

There are 5 state meetings a year, including the TAW Annual Meeting held in the first quarter of the calendar year. In odd numbered years, the Annual Meeting is held in conjunction with the Texas Legislative session in Austin, Texas. In even numbered years, the locations are rotated throughout the state. Meetings are open to members and guests

Texas Agriwomen members inform themselves and the public of issues of importance to agriculture.

TAW members plan and present a day-long informative seminar for 4th Graders in local areas concerning how a farm or ranch works, how a cow gives milk, how fruits and vegetables are grown and harvested and brought to the local grocery store, etc. Ag Day is also supported by poster contests, handing out brochures, and providing other information to local educators.

TAW is a member of American AgriWomen, a national coalition of women's groups interested in all forms of agriculture. TAW testifies from time to time before legislative boards and committees on issues vital to agriculture and to the farming and ranching community, such as access to irrigation water, water law, property taxes, death taxes, and trash disposal problem

TAW members take time to inform legislators and members of the public about how various proposed legislation will affect farming and ranching. At the AAW conventions, many challenges are touched upon, including water use, water rights, latest in biotechnology,and new governmental rules.
